It is thought that specimens strikes were produced as a matter of record for institutional collections and for rare presentation to V.I.P's. The Bentley, example realised £33,600 and an example was sold for £43,000 in Australia in 2017. The McDonald catalogue for 2012 rates it at a valuation of AU$195,000 (or £106,000).
